In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, Alex, a dynamic facilitator collaborating with GEYC, has been at the forefront of integrating AI and e-Learning to promote youth engagement. After completing the “Impactful Workshop Planning” course, Alex organized the “Future Ready Lab” during the European Digital Youth Summit. This workshop attracted 39 participants from various backgrounds, including students, youth workers, teachers, and NGO representatives, showcasing innovative methods to harness digital tools for youth participation.
Alex’s journey began with his enrollment in the “Impactful Workshop Planning” course offered by the RAISE project. This course provided him with the necessary skills to design, plan, and execute workshops that are both engaging and impactful. “The RAISE project’s course was a game-changer for me,” Alex recalls. “It provided the foundational skills and confidence I needed to create workshops that truly engage and inspire participants.”
The Future Ready Lab was meticulously designed to offer a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical activities. The workshop kicked off with introductions and a discussion of expectations, setting a collaborative tone. Participants then delved into the basics of e-Learning, exploring its history and future potential. A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to AI, with a focus on advanced use cases of ChatGPT and best practices in prompt engineering. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, brainstorming on how AI can empower youth workers and enhance youth engagement.
The workshop aimed to help youth workers understand the basics of e-Learning and its potential to boost youth engagement. Participants engaged in activities to exchange best practices and develop actionable plans for integrating AI and e-Learning in their organisations. The ultimate goal was to support youth workers in increasing their impact in local communities. “We focused on practical applications,” Alex says. “By the end of the workshop, participants had developed concrete plans to implement in their communities.”
The interactive nature of the workshop ensured high levels of participant engagement. Networking games and brainstorming sessions allowed participants to connect, share experiences, and collaborate on innovative solutions. The debrief session at the end provided valuable feedback and reflections, paving the way for future improvements. “The feedback was incredibly positive,” Alex shares. “Participants left the workshop feeling empowered and equipped with new skills and knowledge.”
Looking ahead, Alex plans to expand the reach of these workshops, bringing the benefits of AI and e-Learning to more communities. He is optimistic about the future and believes that the skills and knowledge gained from the course will continue to drive significant change. Alex’s Future Ready Lab showcases the powerful impact of innovative, well-structured workshops in addressing modern challenges — fostering meaningful dialogue and practical solutions, while promoting a more inclusive and connected society.
